National Center for Food Analysis and Assessment (NACEFA) was established under the Decision No. 213/QD-VTP December 31, 2007 of the Director of the Food Industries Research Institute, and is an independent accounting unit under the Food Industries Research Institute (FIRI). The laboratory of NACEFA has been issued the Certificate of Accreditation by the Bureau of Accreditation (BoA) that NACEFA has been assessed and found to conform with the requirements of ISO / IEC 17025:2005, Accreditation No. VILAS 259.

 

 

Functions and Tasks

  • Applied research and development of new analytical methods and related issues in majors;
  • Analysis, assessment and certification of the quality of food safety for materials, food products and others;
  •  Inspection, testing of the line technologies, equipments, machineries and spare parts of the food processing industry;
  • Evaluation and certification of conformity assessment of standards and regulations;
  • Consultation of Standard Construction (GLP, HACCP, ISO / IEC 17025 ...);
  • Management, monitoring and maintaining of equipments for research in the laboratories of FIRI; consultation of supplied services of reagents and equipments for research;
  • Training and  improvement of production and business management abilities for scientific researchers of FIRI; and other undergraduated students and  technical workers;
  • Collaboration in scientific research, technology transfer, direct investment in scientific and technological services in the field of food processing;
  • Export and import of materials, products, chemicals, equipments and technological lines in the field of food processing;
  • Collaboration in building, reviewing, improving analysis standards for food safety; implementation of other tasks in the field of food safety;

  • Research on the rapid detection kits for nitrite (NO2) in fruits and vegetables (2005);
  • Development of  industrial standards for analytical methods for vegetables (2006);
  • Study and formulation of the methods for analysis of hormones Clenbuterol in food by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) (2008);
  • Research on detecting pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits by GC/MS (2009);
  • Research on building inspection methods for premium liquors (whiskey, cognac) in order to detect fake & poor- quality goods in the Vietnam market (2010);
  • Research on method  for the determination of methyl-mercury in fish and food products from fish by gas chromatography fitted with electronic Detector (GC/ECD) (2011).
  • Study on detecting acrylamide in food products by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) (2012);
  • Research and development for methods of determining artificial sweetener (saccharin) and some preservatives (methyl-, ethyl-, isobutyl- and butyl-p-hydroxybenzoate) in sauces, spices and beverage products by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) (2013);
  • Research on technological produces for bioactive substances-rich foods from black sesame (2015-2017);
